Boothbay Region Garden Club May Program: Creating a Wildflower Meadow

Boothbay Region Garden Club welcomes Cindy Wright, program development specialist with the Knox-Lincoln Soil and Water Conservation District, to speak at their next meeting. The public is welcome to join for refreshments starting at 1:30 p.m.

Cindy will present on how establishing a wildflower meadow is a rewarding project that benefits both the owner and the environment and how it truly doesn’t have to be complicated or difficult. You can get your meadow started this year! Cindy will present a step-by-step guide to help you get started on a Midcoast wildflower meadow, some pros and cons to consider, along with some reasons why it's a great idea, even if you're just "meadow-curious" at this point in time. There are several approaches to meadow-making that foster connections with nature and contribute to environmental conservation. Creating a wildflower meadow is a wonderful way to connect with nature and contribute to environmental conservation. Plus, you’ll enjoy the beauty and tranquility of a vibrant, blooming landscape.

Cindy Wright joined the Knox-Lincoln Soil & Water Conservation District in September 2024 after a career in formal and informal science education. As one of a pair of Program Development Specialists, she delivers educational programming and technical assistance aimed at helping landowners, farmers, and various organizations conserve and effectively utilize their soil, water, forestry, and wildlife resources.
